An ‘Intensive Interaction Institute Open Research Forum’

This is an open invitation to anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the research base of Intensive Interaction.

During Intensive Interaction Week 2025, the Intensive Interaction Institute will host the first-ever ‘Intensive Interaction Institute Open Research Forum’ on Tuesday, 21st October from 4:30pm – 5:30pm (UK time). This forum will include a ‘Journal Club’ section where participants are invited to discuss a research paper of particular significance.

Hosted by Graham Firth (Intensive Interaction Institute Lead for Research and Publications), this ‘Intensive Interaction Institute Open Research Forum’ is free and open to all-comers, and will be held online via Zoom at: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84922375763…

Below is the meeting schedule, starting at 4:30pm:

1. Welcome and Introductions.

2. An invitation to attendees to share any particular focus of interest they have in terms of Intensive Interaction research, or to tell us about any current studies that they are involved with.

3. The ‘journal club’ section of the forum, where participants are invited to discuss a research paper of significance: for this first forum meeting, it will be the ‘open access’ paper:

Fotoglou, A., et al. (2023) ‘Sociability: The key to sensory processing disorder’, Brazilian Journal of Science and Technology, Vol. 2 (No.1), p. 82-97 – which can be read in full at: https://www.ieel.edu.gr/…/Sociability-The-key-to…

The discussion will be facilitated by the host (who has read but will definitely re-read the paper before then!), with participants invited to share their own views on the methods, findings and possible implications of this fascinating research paper.

4. A short final discussion section will look to gain some agreement from participants on the potential remit, structure and timings of any future ‘Intensive Interaction Institute Open Research Forum’ meetings.

Please do join us for this open, inclusive and (I think) very exciting Intensive Interaction research event!
